The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has urged Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to prioritize industrialization as a sustainable strategy to tackle rising unemployment in the state.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the association emphasized that industrial growth is a critical driver of job creation and overall economic development.
MAN noted that Delta State is endowed with abundant natural and human resources, which can be effectively harnessed through the development of industries, particularly in the manufacturing and agro-processing sectors.

The group pointed that “promoting local industries would not only create employment opportunities but also reduce dependence on imports and boost internally generated revenue”.
The group further urged the state government to provide a conducive business environment by improving infrastructure, ensuring steady power supply, and implementing policies that support investors.
It added that collaboration between the government and private sector players would be critical in positioning Delta State as an industrial hub in Nigeria.
