Former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has refuted reports suggesting that the Court of Appeal upheld his suspension.

Online publications had claimed that the court confirmed the suspension of Anyanwu, along with the National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature; the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; and the Deputy National Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha.
However, addressing journalists after the Appeal Court ruled on the Ibadan convention, Samuel Anyanwu debunked the report, saying, “There was nothing like suspension. It was not before the court.”

Samuel Anyanwu also stated that the party is set for its national convention, noting that it will be held between March 29 and 30.
Meanwhile, the Tanimu Turaki-led faction is heading to the Supreme Court to challenge the Appeal Court ruling.
