Two female passengers have been kidnapped by armed bandits in the Bacita community of Edu Local Government Area in Kwara State.
The incident occurred on Monday after the commercial vehicle they were travelling in developed a mechanical fault and broke down in the town, Kwara State.
According to security sources, “a passenger vehicle that loaded from Niger State heading to Osun State developed mechanical fault at Bacita Junction and subsequently two female passengers were reportedly kidnapped by suspected bandits”.
It was gathered that operatives of the NSCDC Bacita Division has intensified efforts by contacting other security agencies to provide adequate security support to the Jebba formation in order to track down the perpetrators, possibly rescue the victims, and bring the suspects to justice.
Security operatives have also increased surveillance and cordoned off strategic areas within Bacita community to prevent further criminal activities and assist in the ongoing operation to fish out the bandits.
