The Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Aina Adesola, has ordered the strategic deployment of personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration slated for Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
CP Adesola assured Muslim faithful and residents of adequate security measures to protect lives and property, as well as maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the celebration period.
He noted that a comprehensive operational plan has been put in place, involving conventional police officers, tactical units, and other assets stationed at Eid prayer grounds and key locations across the state.

The Delta Commissioner also warned criminal elements, including cultists and other troublemakers, to stay away from unlawful activities, emphasizing that the Command is fully prepared to deal decisively with any threats to public peace.
He further directed Divisional Police Officers, Area Commanders, and Tactical Commanders to step up intelligence-driven raids on criminal hideouts and identified black spots. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations has been tasked with ensuring proper coordination and supervision of all deployments to maintain peace before, during, and after the celebrations.
