During a January 2024 appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, Governor Sule had earlier stated that she had no intention of pursuing a career in politics.

Similarly, in 2025, the governor had stated that he would return to his welding career after his tenure.

“I came in only to be a governor. I have no intention to run for the office of a senator. You can keep this tape and play it one day,” he had said at the time.

However, in a recent development, his Special Assistant on Social Media, Ango Ngharni Emmanuel, disclosed in a Facebook post that the governor has now decided to enter the race.

The aide claims that Governor Sule “has accepted the clarion call to contest” for the legislative post in response to growing pressure from fans and political stakeholders within the ruling party.
