Yilwatda made the call on Sunday during a visit to Kanam Local Government Area following recent attacks in which bandits killed several people, including soldiers and vigilante members.

He emphasized that security should not be left solely to security agencies, encouraging residents to actively support efforts to keep their communities safe and free from fear.

During the visit, he also paid homage to the Emir of Kanam, Alhaji Muhammadu Mu’azu Muhammadu, at his palace, where he condoled with victims of the attacks and expressed his deepest sympathies to affected families and the entire emirate.

Yilwatda stressed that his thoughts remain with those who suffered losses, reaffirming his solidarity with the people and praying for comfort for the bereaved, as well as the swift restoration of peace, unity, and stability in Kanam.

“What remains most inspiring is the unwavering courage, unity, and resilience demonstrated by the people of Kanam in the face of adversity,” he stated.

“These qualities are a powerful reminder that even in difficult moments, hope and collective determination can prevail.

“It is therefore incumbent on all of us, leaders and citizens alike, to renew our commitment to fostering peace, strengthening security, and building a future where every community can thrive without fear,” he added.
