Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly raided the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, amid allegations of multi-billion naira fraud.
In a video that has since gone viral, the anti-graft agency’s armed agents were seen attempting to enter the building , but the mob gathered at the entrance prevented them.
Malami was spotted in the throng as well. He later chatted with the operatives, but they didn’t seem to pay attention.

Recall that in December 2025, the anti-graft agency raided the offices and private residences of the former minister of justice in Abuja and Kebbi State, which was confirmed by Mohammed Doka, his media assistant.
Doka claims that the raid occurred soon after Malami’s office made reference to Chapter 9 of the Justice Ayo Salami Judicial Commission of Inquiry Report in public.
According to Doka, the raid was conducted in order to obtain Chapter 9 of the report.
He asked that Ola Olukoyede, the head of the EFCC, recuse himself from all matters pertaining to him and accused him of prejudice.
Also recall that the EFCC filed a 16-count indictment against Malami, his wife, Bashir Asabe, and son, Abdulaziz, alleging money laundering. However, they have entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
Malami said on January 21 that the DSS was preventing him from seeing his family and legal counsel.

Malami and his son were given N200 million each in bail on February 27 by a federal high court in Abuja for alleged terrorism-related offences.
He has recently fulfilled the bail conditions and regained freedom.
