Job Title: Graphic Design Intern
Location: Abuja with Potential for Travel
Duration: 3–6 Months (with potential for extension)
Reports To: Communications Lead / Design Lead
Role Summary
- We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to support the development of high-quality visual assets across our communication and product platforms.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in visual storytelling, with basic experience in graphic design, illustration, and simple motion design. This role is suited for someone looking to build practical experience while contributing to real projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation of visual assets including:
- Graphics for digital and print materials
- Illustrations for communication and storytelling
- Basic motion designs (simple animations, transitions, short clips)
- Assist in designing content for:
- Social media platforms
- Presentations and reports
- Marketing and program materials
- Ensure visual consistency in line with brand guidelines
- Support the adaptation and resizing of designs across different formats and channels
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate ideas into compelling visual outputs
- Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions and design concepts
Graphic Design Intern at a Reputable Company
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic proficiency in design tools such as:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Canva or Figma
- Foundational skills in illustration (digital or hand-drawn)
- Basic understanding of motion design tools (e.g., After Effects or similar)
- Good sense of layout, typography, and color
- Attention to detail and ability to follow design briefs
Personal Attributes:
- Creative and visually inclined
- Willingness to learn and improve rapidly
- Ability to take feedback and iterate designs
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Preferred (But Not Mandatory):
- A portfolio showcasing previous design work
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics or animation
- Interest in digital media and content creation.
