The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Abuja headquarters is presently under intense security.
This comes after the electoral umpire decided on Wednesday to remove the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) National Working Committee (NWC) from its portal.
According to information obtained, shortly after the judgement was made, more than 2,000 irate Nigerians flocked to the INEC office in Maitama, Abuja.

On Thursday, a few Nigerians, primarily from the ADC, the Obidient Movement, and other organisations, were scheduled to return to the INEC headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, for a demonstration known as “Occupy INEC.”
On Thursday morning, it was noted that security vehicles had blocked the road leading to the commission’s headquarters. Numerous security officers, including members of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigerian Police Force (NPF), were also visible in the vicinity of the headquarters.

According to sources, the body removed David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola’s identities from its official portal as the ADC’s National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.
Additionally, the commission said that it would not acknowledge Nafiu Bala Gombe, who is pursuing legal action to become the national chairman.
Recall that on Wednesday, INEC declared that it would no longer recognise any party divisions and would not keep an eye on any congresses or conventions held by organisations that support the impacted leaders.

The decision, it said, will remain in place pending the final determination of a substantive suit before the Federal High Court.
