Airtel Nigeria has announced the temporary suspension of its airtime and data credit services.

The service previously permitted qualified prepaid customers to borrow airtime or data and repay later.

Femi Adeniran, Director, Corporate Communications said in a statement on Friday that the decision is part of ongoing adjustments to align its operations with evolving regulatory and operational requirements in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.

The telecom provider also stated that consumers will receive information on the stopped service’s status in due course.
