2027 Elections: APC Unveils Revised Timetable, Fixes Primary Dates, Nomination Fees

APCThe All Progressives Congress (APC) has changed the key dates for screening, primaries, appeals, and other internal party procedures in its revised schedule of events for the 2027 general elections.

Additionally, the party announced specific bank accounts for the acquisition of nomination and expression of interest forms.

Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the National Organising Secretary, signed the notification on Monday, while Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary, independently verified it.

The party claims that the new schedule was created in accordance with INEC’s Revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Elections, the 1999 Constitution (as amended), and the 2026 Electoral Act.

Details show that the party will begin form sale from April 25 to May 2, 2026, and require candidates to submit completed forms by May 4, 2026. additionally, It will screen candidates for the State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential positions in stages from May 6 to May 9, 2026.

It further disclosed that State House of Assembly and House of Representatives screening appeals will take place from May 12 to May 13, 2026.

While, the House of Representatives, Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries will all start on May 15, 2026, and conclude on May 23, 2026.

Form Costs

The party also disclosed the prices for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms as follows; ₦1,000,000 and ₦5,000,000 for House of Assembly candidates, ₦1,000,000 and ₦9,000,000 for House of Representatives candidates, ₦3,000,000 and ₦17,000,000 for Senate candidates, ₦30,000,000 and ₦70,000,000 for presidential candidates.

The party further stated that it will allow female candidates, young people, and persons with disabilities to pay only the Expression of Interest fee and half of the Nomination fee for each position.

 

The APC also directed all candidates to make payments into designated party accounts at Union Bank Plc, UBA Plc, and Zenith Bank Plc.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) had previously changed the party’s 2027 election schedule, moving its presidential primary to May 23.

Following the party’s 186th NWC meeting, Deputy National Publicity Secretary Duro Meseko announced the change to reporters in Abuja on Thursday.
