Asake, born Ahmed Ololade, has opened up about how living in Lagos shaped both his life and music career.
The “Sungba” hitmaker revealed that moving to Lagos after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University played a key role in his personal growth, describing the city as instrumental in his journey into adulthood.
Speaking during a recent interview with Spotify, Asake said Lagos has been a major source of inspiration for his music.

According to him, the experience of living in the city taught him important life lessons and influenced many of his songs.
He also expressed gratitude for his rising global recognition, acknowledging that many talented artists are yet to gain similar exposure.
Asake added that he remains thankful to God for the opportunity to share his talent not just locally, but with audiences around the world.
