Emmanuel Odiniya, the father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has finally revealed the cause behind the viral video of him assualting his daughter.
According to a voice message purportedly from Odiniya that Kogi-based journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme posted on Facebook on Sunday and is currently making the rounds online, the father claimed that his daughter’s altered behaviour after winning the reality TV show was the reason behind the incident rather than hatred.
He said, “I want to put the records straight that what led to that incident was not that I don’t love my daughter. She is one of my best children.”
He further said that he organised support and made sacrifices for her to become winner of the show.
He also claimed that he organised support and made sacrifices to help her win the BBNaija All Stars competition.
Additionally, he said, “During her time in the Big Brother Naija house, I contributed a lot. I stood by my daughter and made sure people voted for her massively. I used my influence and connections, including governors and other people, to support her until she won.”
The father further criticised her lifestyle, particularly her alleged cosmetic procedures.
“After she came out and won, she changed. Ilebaye stopped listening to me. I would book her appointments five to six times in a week and she wouldn’t give me audience. She stopped regarding me as her father”
Speaking about the most recent altercation, he claimed that before things got out of control, the reality TV personality attacked him. Additionally, he claimed that despite his health issues, she had neglected him financially.
The father also claimed that his daughter interfered with his marriage and had a bad influence on her younger brother.
Emmanuel insisted that he still loved his daughter and wanted to make amends in spite of the charges.

Ilebaye Odiniya, the Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, sparked concern online on Friday, May 9, after posting a video in which she appeared distressed and called for help.
In a viral clip, the reality TV star, was seen crying and pleading for assistance after allegedly being battered by her father.
She also had noticeable facial puffiness and swollen eyes. Meanwhile, a shirtless man stood above her and tried to hit her as she cried for help.
Ilebaye reportedly went to see her brothers at their family home before her birthday celebration today, before things took a sour turn and got violent.
Following her father’s claims, the reality TV star is however yet to confirm her side of the story.
