The Interim National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Turaki, has approved its timetable and guidelines for the 2026 pre-election activities ahead of the party’s primaries.
In a statement signed by the Interim National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party announced that the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms will commence on May 5, 2026, and end on May 13, 2026.
The NEC explained that it deliberated and approved the full schedule for party primaries and related processes.
According to the timetable, submission of completed forms will close on May 14, followed by screening of aspirants from May 15 to May 18. Screening appeals are scheduled for May 21, while the list of cleared candidates will be published on May 22.

Ward primaries for all offices will hold on May 27, with appeals on the primaries fixed for May 28. The NEC is expected to meet on May 29 to approve all nominated candidates, while a special convention for final ratification will take place on May 30, 2026.
The party also released the costs of nomination forms across various positions. For the House of Assembly, expression of interest is set at ₦500,000 and nomination forms at ₦1.5 million. For the House of Representatives, it is ₦2 million for expression of interest and ₦5 million for nomination forms, while Senate aspirants will pay ₦3 million and ₦7 million respectively.
Governorship aspirants are to pay ₦5 million for expression of interest and ₦35 million for nomination forms, while presidential aspirants will pay ₦10 million and ₦90 million respectively.
The party also stated that women are exempted from paying for nomination forms, while youths and persons living with disabilities will pay 50% of the nomination fees for their chosen offices.
