Victor Umeh, the Senator representing Anambra Central, has said it was already evident that Peter Obi would not secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Victor Umeh made this known during an appearance on the programme Prime Time on Arise News on Monday, where he shared his views on the internal dynamics within the political coalition.
He noted that early indications of imbalance within the alliance were already visible, suggesting that Obi’s chances of emerging as the party’s candidate were slim from the outset.

According to him, the formation of the coalition brought together individuals from diverse political backgrounds without a clearly defined leadership structure.
“The signs were there that Obi would not emerge as the ADC presidential candidate. I was also part of the party, so it doesn’t take much for a reasonable observer to see when the odds are stacked against someone,” he said.
Victor Umeh further argued that a proper and structured assessment was not carried out before the coalition was formed.
He added that the alliance was expected to evolve over time and eventually produce a more unified and credible presidential candidate for future elections.
