The Kabiru Turaki’s faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike to close the party’s operating office.
During his monthly media interview earlier this week, Wike urged the Turaki-led group to demonstrate its legitimacy by being open and honest.
Additionally, the minister threatened to block off any building where the group operates.
According to Ibrahim Abdullahi, a former PDP deputy national publicity secretary and private principal secretary to Turaki, the faction operates from a temporary structure.
He said, “We have been operating from an office. He knows the location; he should come there and take over the office if he can.”
“It is a temporary office, but we are meeting there and carrying out our functions.”
He also cautioned that the nation was headed into a Hobbesian state of anarchy, “where life is brutish, short, and nasty,” as a result of the party’s growing problem.
Additionally, the factional spokesperson described Wike as delusional adding that the minister is aware that the PDP operates party accounts.
“His delusional boast of dealing with banks that will open accounts for us is delusional, as he is already aware that we are operating accounts of the party, which is why his group of friends are receiving money through private accounts.”
BACKSTORY…
Recall that the FCT Minister vowed to block any structure that serves as the headquarters of Kabiru Turaki’s faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
FCT Minister Wike
Speaking during his monthly media chat on Wednesday, the FCT minister challenged the Turaki-led faction to prove its authenticity by operating transparently.
He said, “I will seal off any house that allows them to use it as the PDP headquarters. Any bank that allows them to open an account for the sale of nomination forms will be in trouble.”
