Amid the worsening insecurity crisis plaguing the nation Nigerian celebrities and public figures have began questioning the government and demanding accountability.
This move comes following the most recent attack launched on schools in Oyo State.
Recall that just five days ago gunmen launched coordinated attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, near Alawusa, as well as Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School in Esiele, all in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State’s Ogbomoso axis.
In more recent development, Michael Oyedokun, one of the teachers abducted from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, was beheaded.
Actress Kehinde Bankole demands action over kidnappings
Following this, actress Kehinde Bankole has directly demanded that the nation’s intelligence services, the Federal Government, and the Office of the National Security Advisor use “full wrath and force” right away to put an end to the growing number of kidnappings in the nation.

The actress further expressed the rising weariness of ordinary Nigerians in a social media post on Wednesday, saying that the public is sick of “condolence speeches” and wants quick, practical solutions to save lives.
She wrote, “It is no longer about why it is happening; it is now simply about lives! Lives are being lost! This should not be our new normal, children running for their lives in 2026! Oh God.”
Yvonne Jegede Cries Out
Similarly, Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede reacted to a viral video showing the killing of a teacher. The teacher, Michael Oyedokun, a mathematics teacher in Oyo State, reportedly died after armed men attacked him.

Jegede expressed her sadness over the development on her Instagram page, saying the news should concern everyone, even though only a few people seem to be speaking out.
Additionally, she pointed out that killings keep increasing and that many people no longer feel angry enough to call out the government. She called the recent events “inhumane” and expressed worry that no one is speaking out against them.

Ruth Kadiri Ezerike on her part has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act quickly to combat the nation’s growing insecurity.
The actress made the call via her social media handle while reacting over the recent killing of a school teacher by bandits in Oyo State.

Kadiri further expressed serious concerns about the safety of the populace, saying that the degree of insecurity had reached an alarming level.
She also urged the government to either implement more robust measures or grant residents the right to self-defence in order to save their lives and property.
Toyin Abraham Reacts
Meanwhile, actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident involving teachers and children abducted in Oyo State.
In an Instagram post, Wednesday, Abraham said, “My heart is deeply heavy over the painful killings and abductions happening in Oyo State and across different parts of Nigeria.
