Rivers State Commissioner for Youths, Hon. Chisom Gbali, has tendered his resignation from the All Progressives Congress(APC) following the governor’s withdrawal from the primaries.
The commissioner announced his resignation in a letter dated May 13 and addressed to the chairman of Ward 1 in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.
He also noted that the decision was reached after careful reflection and personal consideration.

Chisom Glabi said, “I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the leadership and members of the party for opportunities, relationship and experiences I gained during my time as a member of the party.
“I kindly request that my name be removed from the party’s membership records and registers accordingly,”

Meanwhile, Rivers State Governor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has formally withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress(APC), governorship primary election in the state.
Governor Fubara announced this shocking development in a statement personally signed on Wednesday, adding that he would support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
According to him, although the decision was difficult, he remains committed to supporting whoever emerges as the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election.

Similarly, Tonye Cole, a former APC governorship candidate in Rivers, has also formally withdrawn from the party’s primary election in the state ahead of Thursday’s exercise.
Tonye Cole also stated that the decision followed consultations with members of his political team, supporters, and stakeholders within the APC in Rivers state.
