Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has officially presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the state, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, on Friday.
The development was confirmed by Zulum’s Spokesperson and Media Adviser, Dauda Iliya, via his X (formerly Twitter) account.
During the visit, Governor Zulum praised President Tinubu for his efforts toward peace, stability, and reconstruction in the Northeast, noting that his leadership has strengthened unity within the APC and improved governance in the region.
Engr. Gubio, who emerged unopposed as the APC governorship candidate during the party’s primary election, was accompanied on the visit by a member of the House of Representatives, Engr. Bukar Talba.
The APC governorship primary held in Maiduguri on Thursday produced Gubio as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 Borno State governorship election.
The exercise was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Zulum, party leaders, delegates, and other key stakeholders across the state.
Party members described Gubio’s emergence as a consensus decision, reflecting unity and cohesion within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
