Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the “Rivers First” philosophy, describing it as the guiding principle behind all government decisions and development initiatives over the past three years.
In a statement marking the third anniversary of his administration, the governor said the welfare of Rivers people has remained the core focus of his leadership since assuming office.
According to a release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, the government’s major investments in road infrastructure are aimed at improving connectivity between rural and urban areas, as well as stimulating economic growth across the state.
Fubara noted that key projects, such as the Port Harcourt Ring Road, Trans-Kalabari Highway, Elele/Umudioka/Egbeda/Ubimini/Ikiri/Omoku Road, and the Ngo-Atlantic/Oyorokoto Road, were conceived to attract investment and fast-track development in Rivers State.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their continued trust and support, assuring them that his administration would remain accountable and committed to the responsible use of public resources for the collective good.
Fubara attributed the achievements recorded so far to the resilience, cooperation, and industrious nature of the people of the state.
He stated that the progress made in three years demonstrates what is possible when government and citizens work together toward a common goal.

Fubara also reiterated his promise to govern with transparency, listen more to the people, and ensure that every policy, project, and expenditure reflects the interests of Rivers residents.
While acknowledging that more work still lies ahead, he urged all groups—including elders, youths, women, traders, teachers, artisans, farmers, and professionals—to continue supporting the development of the state.
He further congratulated Rivers people and Nigerians on 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, describing it as the longest continuous civilian rule since independence.
Fubara added that Nigeria’s sustained democratic journey reflects the ability of its diverse people to coexist peacefully and work collectively toward national development despite differences.
