The Federal Workers Forum has threatened to mobilise federal workers for an indefinite nationwide strike following rising insecurity in the country and unresolved wage issues.
During an online meeting on Sunday, the forum criticised the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress for failing to step up and provide leadership on the issue.
In a statement to journalists, signed by its National Coordinator, Mr. Emelieze, and Secretary, Mr. Ayo Ogundele, the forum also accused the Federal Government of exploiting workers and failing to protect them.
According to the group, an online survey of its members overwhelmingly supported an immediate strike to address Nigeria’s current situation of hardship and insecurity.
The forum further claims that workers received substantially less because just N40,000 was added flat to salaries across all grade levels and the sum was taxed.
