Delta State Government dismisses death rumour, says former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is alive

The Delta State Government has dismissed reports claiming that former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is dead.

In a statement issued by Ossai Ovie, media aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the government clarified that the former governor is alive and in good condition.

Ovie said he contacted Uduaghan’s family after seeing the reports and spoke directly with his daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who confirmed that the rumour was false.

He expressed disappointment over the spread of unverified information and urged the public to ignore the claims and avoid sharing false reports.

BACKSTORY…

Emmanuel Uduaghan served as governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015 and remains a notable political figure in the state.

Over the years, Uduaghan has maintained a relatively low public profile after leaving office, occasionally making appearances on political and social matters in Delta.

The recent rumour of his death quickly spread across social media, sparking concern among supporters and residents before it was debunked by the Delta State Government.

The clarification was issued to calm public anxiety and discourage the spread of false and unverified reports online.
