President Bola Tinubu has formally approved the appointment of 26 nominees to serve across the governing boards and leadership teams of ten federal agencies and commissions.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday, confirming that all appointments take immediate effect.
Among the appointees is Ayo Fayose, who was named chairman of the board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
Following the appointment, Fayose will head the REA governing board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta, who will serve as non-executive directors.
The board will also comprise Abba Aliyu, the agency’s director-general, along with three executive directors selected in an earlier round of appointments.
In addition, President Tinubu named retired Major General Junaid Bindawa as the new chief of the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC).
Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, former member of the house of representatives, was named secretary of the commission.
Other members of the commission include Ogbole Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Barde (Kaduna), Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Tor (Enugu), Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Iyabode (Kogi).
Tosin Adeyanju, who was earlier designated executive secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been reassigned as secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission.
The president also named Abuh Mohammed as director-general of the National Population Commission (NPC), Akinola Odeyemi as managing director of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) Plc, and Anthony Godwin as chairman and managing director of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
In addition, Julius Oloro was appointed CEO of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), succeeding A.R. Kamal, who died in January.

Board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC)
President Tinubu also constituted the governing board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), designating Abdullahi Saidu as its chairman.
Joining the FRC board as members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Onikola.
Shuni Dahiru was named executive secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult, and Non-Formal Education (NMEC), succeeding Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in April
The president also named Gisaor Iorja, an economist and secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), as executive director (financial) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), succeeding Mathias Byuan, who left to pursue his Benue governorship ambition.

The latest appointments come just weeks after President Bola Tinubu approved another round of appointments into key federal agencies and parastatals as part of his administration’s ongoing effort to fill strategic positions across government institutions.
The previous exercise saw several individuals appointed to the boards and management of agencies spanning the education, energy, transportation and public service sectors, with the Presidency stating that the appointments were aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery.
