Abia State Governor Alex Otti has authorized the first phase of funding for legendary Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills, responding to her public appeal for financial assistance to undergo three life-saving surgeries.
Martins Justice, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant for Tourism and Entertainment, revealed the intervention in a post on X on Tuesday.
“His Excellency @alexottiofr have just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu to approve the first part of her medical bills,”
However, Justice noted that the payment covers only a fraction of the required medical bills and urged Nigerians to keep donating to support the actress.
“While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible you can,” he added.
He also thanked the governor on behalf of creative sector professionals. He said, “On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, my leader. Ndewo sir.”

Recall that the veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu had earlier issued an emotional plea for financial help as she battles a serious illness, revealing a three-week hospital stay ahead of three scheduled surgeries.
The actress shared an emotional video from her hospital bed on Instagram this Thursday, visibly distressed as she begged fans, friends, and family not to abandon her during this crisis.
Addressing her online community, Nwosu clarified that her medical struggles caused her recent disappearance from the public eye.
She said, “My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalized now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help, don’t let me die.”
The veteran actress expressed hope that she would overcome her health struggle, while begging for financial support as severe pain continues to torment her.
