Faith Ajoke Alayande, a 23-year-old lawyer and (NLS) student, was found dead in an apparent suicide at the institution’s hostel on Victoria Island, Lagos.
Sources indicate that the victim was discovered early on Friday, August 7, 2026 after allegedly jumping from a four storey building.
Igbokwe Juliana, the Law School’s Chief Matron, reported the incident to the Victoria Island Police Division around 6:30 a.m. after being alerted by the deceased’s roommate, Ojo Abisoye Tinuola.
Following the report, detectives from the division arrived at the hostel, documented the scene, and initiated an investigation into Faith Ajoke Alayande death.
Her body was deposited at the Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and an autopsy, and while the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, preliminary indicators suggest suicide.
Police confirmed that investigations are active to establish the full facts surrounding the incident.
