Veryblackman arrested over threat to DeeOne

Police arrest Veryblackman over alleged threat against DeeOne

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a prominent Ratel member, identified as Veryblackman of Port Harcourt, who is also known as VeryDarkMan’s brother.

Veryblackman was arrested on Saturday over alleged threats to the life of reality TV star and comedian, DeeOne.

He was reportedly taken into custody after failing to honour an invitation from the police and was subsequently transported to Lagos on Sunday.

Reacting to the development, DeeOne wrote on Instagram: “Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job.”

Veryblackman had reportedly threatened to kill DeeOne in June 2026 after the comedian criticised VeryDarkMan.

Following the threat, several Nigerians, including celebrities such as Mario Wazobia and Broda Mike, called for his arrest.

The latest development comes amid renewed attention to the online dispute between Veryblackman and DeeOne, with the police now investigating the alleged threat.

BACKSTORY:

The development follows an earlier online dispute between Veryblackman and DeeOne. In June 2026, Veryblackman reportedly threatened DeeOne after the comedian criticised social media personality VeryDarkMan.

The alleged threat triggered reactions from Nigerians and some celebrities, who called on the authorities to intervene. Veryblackman was later arrested by the Rivers State Police Command after reportedly failing to honour a police invitation and was subsequently taken to Lagos.

The case has renewed discussions about threats made by social media personalities and the limits of online confrontations.
