Job Summary
- We are seeking a results-driven and customer-focused Personal Banking Relationship Officer to acquire new customers, manage existing relationships, grow deposits, and drive the adoption of the Bank’s personal and retail banking products.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, identifying financial needs, promoting appropriate banking solutions, achieving sales targets and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire new customers through direct sales, referrals, networking, field marketing and other business development activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Promote and sell personal banking products including savings and current accounts, salary accounts, debit cards, digital banking solutions, loans and other approved products.
- Drive deposit mobilization and grow the value of customer portfolios.
- Identify customer financial needs and recommend suitable banking products and services.
- Generate quality leads and follow up consistently to convert prospects into customers.
- Conduct customer visits and participate in field sales and marketing activities.
- Cross-sell and upsell relevant banking products to existing customers.
- Monitor assigned customer portfolios and identify opportunities for increased business.
- Achieve and consistently exceed assigned acquisition, deposit, revenue and product sales targets.
- Educate customers on the use of digital banking channels and self-service solutions.
- Ensure accurate completion and submission of account-opening and other customer documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities and prospects.
- Follow up on customer requests and complaints and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Bank’s products, services, pricing and competitive offerings.
- Monitor competitor activities and provide relevant market intelligence to management.
- Ensure full compliance with the Bank’s policies, procedures, KYC requirements, AML regulations and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare and submit regular sales and performance reports to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in branch campaigns, customer acquisition drives and other business development initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
- 1–2 years of experience in banking, financial services, sales, customer acquisition or relationship management is preferred.
- Experience in personal banking, retail banking, direct sales, or business development is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of banking products and customer acquisition strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales and relationship-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet challenging sales targets.
- Customer-focused, proactive and commercially minded.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital banking/customer management tools.
