President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has selected Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo to lead the APC Air Mobilisation Directorate for 2027 election.
Under the setup, Keyamo will serve as Director of the Directorate of Air Mobilization, alongside Olubunmi Kuku—Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)—as Deputy Director I and Farouk Ahmed Umar as Deputy Director II, according to a Sunday announcement by Keyamo’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood.
The official statement highlighted the strategic importance of aviation logistics, operational coordination, and air transportation for planning a national campaign across Nigeria.
Under its mandate, the Directorate of Air Mobilization will coordinate campaign air-movement requirements, streamline travel logistics for official personnel, and execute efficient flight planning to support APC campaign activities across all six geopolitical zones.
Given the massive scale of the 2027 presidential campaign, the directorate must collaborate closely with other campaign structures while adhering strictly to applicable aviation regulations and electoral laws.
This collaboration aims to ensure seamless coordination, operational efficiency, and effective deployment of available logistical resources.
Backstory…
The appointment of Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo as Director of Air Mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign comes just a day after the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally flagged off its presidential campaign with a mega rally in Kaduna on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The Kaduna flag-off followed weeks of preparations by the APC Presidential Campaign Council, led by former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, who had announced the date and outlined plans for campaign visits across the country.
The development also places aviation logistics among the key operational components of Tinubu’s re-election campaign, which will require the movement of party leaders and campaign teams between states.
