The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally announced the timetable for its nationwide congresses and national convention.
ADC spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi said in a statement on Saturday that the exercise is a part of the party’s constitutional procedure to update leadership structures at all levels.
The process according to the schedule will start with polling unit and ward congresses, move on to local government and state congresses, and end with the national convention, according to the program.

According to the party, local government area congresses are scheduled for April 9, while polling unit and ward congresses are scheduled for April and the state congresses, on April 11.
Additionally, the ADC announced that its national convention, which is anticipated to produce national officers, will take place on April 14.

“This process forms part of our party’s constitutional responsibility to renew its leadership structures across all levels of the organization, beginning from the polling units and wards through the local government and state levels, culminating in the National Convention,” the statement reads.
According to the ADC, the congresses are a component of the party’s efforts to improve internal democracy.
In advance of the 2027 general election, the party started offering free online membership registration nationwide earlier in March.

The ADC also said that the digital platform is part of its ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise launched last month in Abuja.
