As of October 2025, electricity supply on Nigeria’s national grid declined to 5,128.50 megawatts, according to the latest performance data released by the Nigerian Independent System Operator. Adebayo Adelabu, an energy expert, expressed concern over the drop, emphasizing the urgent need for strategic interventions to stabilize and improve the nation’s power supply.

This marks a 12.32% decrease compared to the peak output of 5,801.84 megawatts recorded on March 4, 2025.

The development further showed that power supply has not improved in the last months for estimated 250 million Nigerians.

Recall that on September 10th, 2025, the national grid collapsed but was restored hours later.
