A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has outlined the conditions under which the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could either secure victory or suffer defeat in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Hard Copy, a programme on Channels Television, on Sunday, Adebayo said the APC would emerge victorious if the election is dominated by politicians, but would lose if it truly reflects the will of the people.
He made the remarks while discussing the prospects and dynamics of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu, the APC and all incumbents are beatable.
He expressed confidence that the SDP would defeat Tinubu and the APC in the next election.
The former SDP presidential candidate Adebayo said, “If it is a politicians’ election, the APC is going to win. But if it’s a people’s election, they will lose, and we, the SDP are going to win.
“President Tinubu is beatable. APC is beatable. All the incumbents are beatable. We will surely send them packing in 2027. The APC is only successful with the political class.
“Now it is a challenge to the people to now raise a new political class, and that job is not easy to do, but it is a necessary job to do, because we are going to replace them with a new set of leadership.”
