Barely two weeks after its release, Starrgirl, the latest album by Nigerian singer Sarah Aderibigbe—professionally known as Ayra Starr—debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
The achievement was revealed on Wednesday in the Billboard World Albums ranking for the week of August 29, 2026.
Ayra Starr’s Starrgirl entered the chart just behind three K-pop male groups: Stray Kids’ This & That, CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN, and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5, while South African vocalist Tyla took the No. 5 spot with APOP*.
Released on August 14 through Mavin Records and Republic Records, Starrgirl marks Ayra Starr’s third studio album, following her previous projects 19 & Dangerous (2021) and The Year I Turned 21 (2024).
The 16-track project features a mix of Nigerian and international guest artists, including Wizkid, Rema, Zayn, Leon Thomas, Kwn, Danny Ocean, and Theodora.
Following its release, the project posted strong performances across multiple international charts and streaming platforms.
The album reached No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart while peaking at No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart and No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart.
Additionally, Starrgirl secured the top spot on Spotify’s album chart in Nigeria and claimed No. 1 rankings on Apple Music across several regions.
The Billboard World Albums chart measures the week’s top-selling international music releases in the United States using sales data.

Starrgirl is Ayra Starr’s third studio album, following her 2021 debut 19 & Dangerous and her 2024 album The Year I Turned 21.
The 16-track project features major international and Nigerian artists, including Wizkid, Rema, Zayn Malik, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean and Theodora, reflecting the increasingly international direction of her music.
The album also represents a new phase in Starr’s artistic development. Ahead of its release, she described herself as growing sonically and experimenting with different sounds, signalling a move beyond the sound that established her as one of Nigeria’s leading young Afrobeats acts.
