Armed men believed to be bandits invaded a community in Niger State, killing at least thirty people and kidnapping many more.
A rural market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, was allegedly attacked and set on fire by the bandits, who were purportedly operating out of Kainji Lake National Park.

In addition to looting food and other goods, the bandits set the market on fire.
The assailants also reportedly shot at villagers, and abducted many along paths leading to the expansive Kainji Lake National Park forest.

While verifying the event, Wasiu Abiodun, the State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that a combined security team had visited the location and that rescue operations for the abducted people were still underway.
