Bayo Onanuga advised citizens to always confirm the authenticity of such content before circulating it on social media.
His comment followed a video shared by comedian DeeOne, who posted images claiming to show schoolchildren killed, while also warning against the spread of false information and its potential to cause panic.
DeeOne also alleged that many viral stories about kidnappings and killings are fake and politically motivated, urging people to focus only on verified reports.
Responding on X, Bayo Onanuga simply stated that Nigerians should stop circulating unverified images and videos, stressing the importance of unity and responsible information sharing, adding that “we only have one Nigeria.”
