The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed its ruling in a new lawsuit that aims to prevent ADC leaders, Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from posing as the Chairman and Secretary of the party, until April 14.
Due to other urgent official obligations, Justice Musa Suleiman Liman postponed the judgement in the lawsuit brought by Hon. Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives from Kogi State, by 24 hours.

Newsmen and politicians who had stormed the court as early as 8am were informed by the court’s registrar that the judgement delivery would be postponed until Monday.
When reality eventually set in, the majority of the politicians—mostly from the legislative and David Mark-led leadership camps—left the courtroom one by one.
Recall that last Friday, the Judge had fixed April 13 for the verdict after Abejide’s counsel, Ibrahim Idris, SAN, and lawyers to the defence adopted their processes and presented their arguments for and against the suit.

In the originating summons marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1637/2025, which the lawmaker filed on February 15, 2026, he sued ADC, Ralph Nwosu, Mark, Aregbesola, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the 1st to 5th defendants respectively.
Nwosu was the former national chairman of ADC who stepped down for Mark, the former Senate President to take over the leadership of the party.

Meanwhile, in its arguments, ADC, Nwosu, Mark, and Aregbesola argued that Abejide had no legal authority to file the lawsuit.
They contended in their individual preliminary objections that the suit’s subject matter is non-justiciable since it touches on a political party’s internal affairs.
They further stated that the court lacked the authority to investigate such issues.
