Reports indicate that several prominent loyalists of the Oyo State governor officially resigned from the party in separate announcements made on Thursday.
Although there are speculations that the defectors may be heading to the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), none of them has publicly confirmed their next political destination.
Among those who reportedly dumped the party are former governorship aspirant Ambassador Olufemi Oguntoyinbo; Governor Makinde’s Special Adviser on Security, Mr. Fatai Owoseni; and Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engineer Akeem Olatunji.

Others include Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Abiodun Fadeyi, as well as House of Representatives members Anthony Adepoju, Abass Adigun, and Adedeji Olajide.
Speaking on the development, Fadeyi confirmed his exit from the PDP, citing the lingering internal crisis within the party as the reason behind his decision.
Olatunji also blamed the party’s internal turmoil for his resignation, accusing Wike of worsening the crisis and preventing the PDP from functioning effectively.
Sources further revealed that more loyalists of Oyo State Governor Makinde may leave the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
