BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Six Nasarawa State University Students in Shocking Night Attack

Panic has gripped the community surrounding Nasarawa State University after gunmen reportedly abducted six students from the institution’s Gudi campus in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The abduction occurred on Wednesday night when armed men stormed an off-campus hostel located at Anguwar Ninzo in Gudi around 9 p.m.

According to the spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command, SP Rahman Nansel, six of the victims were identified as Engineering students of the university, while another individual who was present at the lodge was also taken away by the attackers.

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed, visited the scene to assess the situation and reassure students, residents, and the university community that security agencies are working tirelessly to secure the victims’ safe return.

A joint rescue operation involving the police, DSS, military, NSCDC, vigilante groups, and other tactical units has since been launched to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims unharmed.

The Nasarawa police also confirmed that the Area Commander in Akwanga has been redeployed to coordinate field operations.

Speaking on the development, SP Nansel stated that security operatives are committed to apprehending those behind the attack and ensuring justice is served.

Residents have been urged to remain calm, vigilant, and report any useful information to security agencies as investigations and rescue efforts continue.
