Muhammadu Buhari, the former president, has passed away.
Bashir Ahmad, a former adviser, declared the former president’s death on X.
He wrote: “The former president Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, passed away this afternoon in a London clinic, according to the former president’s family.”
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin.”
The former President, who led Nigeria as its military leader from 1983 to 1985 before taking office as its civilian president from 2015 to 2023, was well-known for his anti-corruption policies and attempts to stabilise the economy.
The family is anticipated to provide more information about the burial plans in compliance with Islamic customs.
