Eyewitnesses urge residents to urgently check on family and friends who may have boarded a bus from Makurdi earlier today.
One of the first responders who rushed to alert the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, office at Yelewata claimed that officers on duty said the location of the crash was outside their operational jurisdiction.
They allegedly directed him to lodge the report at the Daudu unit instead.
As of the time of filing this report, rescue efforts and the exact number of casualties remain unconfirmed.
