Nigerian comedians and content creators, Broda Mike and Mario Wazobia, have called for the arrest of a social media personality identified as Veryblackman, also linked to the Ratel movement and described as an associate of VeryDarkMan, over alleged threats directed at comedian DeeOne.
Reports indicate that Veryblackman, in a now-deleted Instagram video, issued a warning in which he threatened to confront and kill DeeOne if he ever encountered him.
In the video, he allegedly said he was prepared for either outcome, including a possible arrest or imprisonment, while insisting that a violent confrontation was inevitable if they met.
The clip has since gone viral, sparking widespread reactions online, with several Nigerians and entertainment figures expressing concern over what they described as a clear threat to life.
Reacting in separate videos, Mario Wazobia said DeeOne had no personal conflict with the individual and cautioned that such public threats should be taken seriously, urging the comedian to involve law enforcement.
Similarly, Broda Mike also advised DeeOne to report the matter to the police, stressing that the statements amounted to a direct threat and should not be ignored, especially given the public nature of their profiles.
He further warned that failure to act could have serious consequences, adding that threats made online should be treated with urgency by security authorities.
The situation has continued to generate debate online, particularly because DeeOne is known to be a critic of VeryDarkMan and the Ratel movement, while Veryblackman is associated with the same group.
BACKSTORY…
The call for the arrest of social media personality Veryblackman follows a viral controversy that erupted online after a video surfaced showing him allegedly issuing a death threat against comedian DeeOne.
In the now-deleted Instagram clip, Veryblackman was said to have expressed strong anger toward DeeOne, allegedly stating that he would attack him if they ever met. The video quickly spread across social media, triggering concern among fans and entertainers who viewed the comments as a serious threat.
The situation gained more attention because DeeOne is known for his public criticism of activist VeryDarkMan and the Ratel movement, a group with which Veryblackman is reportedly affiliated.
As the video circulated, comedians Broda Mike and Mario Wazobia stepped in, urging that the matter be taken seriously. They argued that public threats of violence should not be ignored and advised DeeOne to report the incident to law enforcement authorities for investigation.
Their reaction reflects growing concern within the entertainment community about rising online confrontations spilling into real-life threats, and calls for stricter handling of such cases by security agencies.
