Nigerian singer-songwriter Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
While details of the meeting still remain undisclosed, Social media influencer, VeryDarkMan suggested it may be linked to projects the Grammy-winning artist plans to execute in his hometown, Ahoada West Local Government Area.

The development comes after a recent issue involving Ogadinma Uchechi, a student who used social media to call attention to a community school’s deplorable condition. Eugene Chita Epelle, the chairman of the Ahoada West LGA, allegedly attacked her after she posted.
Burna Boy stepped in as the problem gathered attention online, promising to pay for the school’s renovation and the establishment of a nearby health center. The community was gathered to be lacking accessible road infrastructure, which has reportedly presented difficulties for the planned improvements.

Burna Boy, who was recently reported to have converted to Islam, visited the governor alongside his father, Samuel Ogulu, and music executive Soso Soberekon.
VDM announced the singer’s visit on his Instagram page, citing their efforts in the oil-producing state as the reason.

“He is going to tell the governor to mandate whoever is in charge of the road project to fix the road leading to Ogbogolo, Ahoada West, to make it easy for us to build their school, to enable them to access quality education.
“We are also going to build health care for the community. The change starts from us,” he wrote.
