Breaking: Air Peace disputes plans to raise flight costs by 100% starting on November 1.
It has been denied that Air Peace increased the price of their one-way flight from Lagos to Abuja to N200,000, as claimed in a widely circulated post.Recall how an internal communication that was made public stated that Air Peace’s one-way ticket would suddenly cost N200,000 as of November 1, 2024?
A portion of the memo reads, “This is to inform you that our domestic fares have been reviewed,” The revised pricing will apply to flights as of November 1, 2024. The previous flight pricing are still available through October 31, 2024.
Business class under booking class “J” will climb from 250,000 to 400,000, representing a 60% increase, while class “C” will increase from 200,000 to 330,000, or a 65% hike, in accordance with the new pricing structure.
Significant changes will also be made to economy class tickets; class “Y” will see a 100% increase in price from 150,100 to 300,000. The range of other economy fares, which show different modifications between categories, will be between 120,000 and 210,000.
According to the memo, flights scheduled on or before October 31 will continue to be available at the current fares.
Furthermore, there won’t be any change costs for altered reservations, and all new fares will be refundable. However, in an effort to encourage improved booking management, the no-show cost has been raised from 10,000 to 15,000.
In a response refuting the widely shared photo, the airline claimed that the suggestion of a 100% rate rise featuring Chairman Mr. Allen Onyema’s image was untrue and did not originate from the airline.
According to a check on the airline’s website, Air Peace’s one-way Lagos-Abuja journey costs significantly less than that. A one-way ticket for November 1 costs about N114,000 as of the time this report was written.
