Tech giant and popular phone producer Apple Inc. has announced that in 2025, it will embed satellite connectivity and blood pressure monitoring in its Apple Watch. This technology will be a part of the 2025 Apple Watch Ultra.
The benefit of this technology is that Apple users will be able to communicate with other users without the use of the internet or cellphone service.
Apple has been testing this technology in its iPhone models since 2022 and will now use it in its Apple Watch in 2025. To further reinstate their commitment to this technology, they invested in November a total of $1.5 billion in Globastar, a satellite communications provider.
The tech company is also looking to improve on its health monitoring technology, which can provide real data with little to zero margins of error. This health technology will focus on blood pressure, oxygen blood levels, and other health features.
It aims to rival Samsung, which remains their biggest rival in the industry. Although they recently surpassed Microsoft to become the leading and most valuable company in the world with a $3.29 trillion market valuation.
