BREAKING: Tinubu’s administration sets date to begin distribution of grains to Nigerians.

The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that the dispersal of 42,000 metric tons of grains throughout the 36 states of the federation will commence within this week.

Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, disclosed this information via a post on his social media handle on Monday, March 4, 2024.

The minister further stated that an additional 58,500 metric tons of milled rice sourced from major rice millers will be introduced into the market to aid in stabilization.

The Ministry collaborates with NEMA and the DSS to ensure proper distribution of grains. Compassion is extended to those impacted by hardships, especially amid food warehouse looting.

Meanwhile, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State announced that the program will kick off in Niger State. President Bola Tinubu will attend to inaugurate the food distribution and commission the Agriculture Mechanisation project initiated by the State Government. The state has procured 120 trucks of grains, including rice, millet, sorghum, guinea corn, and soybeans, to complement the Federal Government’s intervention. The governor is optimistic about reaching the vulnerable populace with these palliatives.
