DSS advises Nigerians to avoid crowded gatherings during Lent and Ramadan.

The DSS has issued a security alert urging Nigerians to avoid crowded or suspicious places due to potential threats from Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). They emphasized this caution during the Lent and upcoming Ramadan seasons to ensure a peaceful environment. The secret police also warned religious leaders, traditional rulers, and stakeholders against economic exploitation or profiteering during these times.

He stated that the DSS acknowledges the importance of these sacred rituals, which is why it urges worshippers to foster understanding, compassion, and respect for one another throughout and after the ceremonies. The spokesperson for the secret police emphasized, “Accordingly, the Management extends its heartfelt felicitations for peace, unity, and harmony to adherents of these faiths. The DSS recognizes the significance of these sacred rites and encourages worshippers to promote understanding, compassion, and respect for one another during and after the exercises.”

He urged stakeholders to refrain from economic exploitation, sabotage, or profiteering during these crucial obligations. Such illegal practices, like price gouging or unethical marketing tactics, are considered ungodly, violate fairness, and can undermine the true essence of the holy events.
