The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has awarded Nigeria’s leading fintech, OPAY, the prestigious IFIC Award for Financial Inclusion Innovation.
The award was presented to Opay in November at the 2024 International Financial Inclusion Conference (IFIC). It showcases Opay’s ability to comply with regulatory standards and support the CBN’s mission to achieve a 95% financial inclusion rate by 2024.
Dauda Gotring, CEO of OPay, said, “This recognition by the CBN highlights OPay’s dedication to providing innovative, compliant, and inclusive financial solutions.”
The selection process for the award was a highly competitive one in which key metrics such as regulatory adherence, technological innovation, customer impact, and contributions to advancing the CBN’s financial inclusion goals were taken into consideration before selecting the winner.
