Fresh controversy arose in the upper chamber following allegations of padding the 2024 National Appropriation Act by N3.7 trillion. Although both the presidency and the legislative arm refute these claims, concerns over transparency and unjustified financial allocations to the National Assembly persist, raising doubts about its integrity.
Senator Jarigbe from Cross River North senatorial district revealed on the Senate floor that some senators allegedly received N500 million each from the 2024 budget, adding fuel to the controversy surrounding budgetary allocations.
