The Chad Government has announced an immediate shutdown of its border with Nigeria following growing security concerns fueled by widespread details of planned U.S. military’ invasion in parts of West Africa.
President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno ordered a military lockdown on the Nigerian border after intelligence suggested that terrorist actors from Northern Nigeria were preparing to enter Chad, according to military sources in N’Djamena on Monday.

A post on X by security and counterinsurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, claims that the Chadian government have since closed their borders.
Zagazola Makama claims that all units are now fully prepared and that Chadian soldiers and armoured vehicles have been sent to vital routes from Nigeria.

According to reports, President Déby issued a warning that “no foreign force or armed group will be allowed to enter Chadian soil under any disguise.”
The border closure coincides with escalating tensions in the region and conjecture on the United States’ planned military invasion in West Africa and the Sahel.

According to security experts, the move is a preventative measure to safeguard its borders and stop militants from infiltrating the country in an attempt to take advantage of the present unrest in the area.
As at the time of filing this report, no formal statement had been received by Nigerian security operatives on this development
