The Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed an eight-count criminal charge filed by the Federal Government against Adeniyi Adeyemi, the alleged fake Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, on Monday.
Justice Mohammed Garba Umar struck out the case following an application by the prosecution, which confirmed plans to re-arraign Adeyemi before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
Moving the application during Monday’s proceedings, the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, stated that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice reviewed the initial charges brought by the Inspector-General of Police and identified structural defects in the case file.

Backstory…
In July 2026, a Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment. He was later arrested and, on September 30, pleaded not guilty to an eight-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy and forgery.
The prosecution accused him and two other defendants, who were said to be at large, of forging official documents and falsely presenting him as the council’s Director-General.
