Two yet to be identified men have been apprehended and mercilessly battered by the residents of the Oyibo area of River state over child trafficking claims.
According to sources, the said men allegedly sell children to accomplices and buyers for as little as N800,000.
A local news outlet took to its x handle to share the horrific incident, adding that resident did not hesiatae to take laws into their own hands.
As at the time of report, the Oyibo police command is yet to issue any official statement addressing the development.
In similar events, over five orphanages have been shut down by the Lagos State Government over offences ranging from baby trafficking to violations of the State Child Rights Law of 2015.

The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, disclosed this on Tuesday during the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second year in office.
He stated that the closures were part of the ministry’s efforts to clamp down on illegal practices and safeguard the rights of children across the Lagos state.
